A meeting of the Meadow View PTO General Members was held virtually through Zoom on Wednesday 01/13/2021 at 6:06 PM.

Alex Baltrus welcomes and thanks all attendees for coming. We are looking forward to students coming back. Hoping to schedule in person activities by the end of the school year.  Thank you to everyone who participated in 5 Below and Panera Bread.

The Minutes from the November 2020 General meeting were posted to the Meadow View Elementary website.  No revisions and additional were requested.

C.A.P.E Report

Presented by Alex Baltrus: The December 2020 meeting minutes are available on the Meadow View Elementary website under the PTO tab. Next meeting is this Friday. CAPE nominations will be upcoming.

COMMITTEE REPORT

Building Enhancement Committee

            Committee met in November. Water filling stations are being installed. PTO has purchased 1 additional filling station for the building. District has purchased 20 sound machines for the building/staff. Staff lounge is on the project timeline for planning. Most projects are on hold due to Covid-19. Next meeting in the Spring.

MV PTO Business

  • 2021-2023 MV PTO Board Elections - Open Election, 5 Seats (President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Treasurer, & Secretary). Virtual election. Jodi will be acting 2nd Vice President heading up the Election Committee.
  • Big Pauly’s Family Dinner Night is February 9th
  • Planning a Virtual Spirit Week last week of January
  • Planning Friendship Bags in February
  • District is working with HR imaging to provide school pictures for families and a yearbook (April). PTO will help on this project.
  • Spirit wear store will re-open in February

Meadow View PTO Meeting

Principal Report

 

  1. Welcome and Thank you for attending tonight’s meeting
  2. As of today, MV has an enrollment of 528 students
  3. I would like to thank all our parents, staff members, and students as everyone continues to do a great job with remote learning.
  4. The 2nd quarter ends on Friday, January 15th.  Report cards for the 2nd quarter will be sent electronically on Friday, January 29th.  
  5. Monday night, the District administration updated the Board of Education about the District’s plans to return to in-person instruction.  The tentative schedule for when each group of students would return for in-person instruction using a hybrid model is:   

·         January 25 – PreK-12 multi-needs and specialized programs

·         Feb 1 -   Grades 6 and 9, and 1st -12th grade Instructional Special education

·         Feb 1  - School Improvement Day, no instruction for Pre-K and K

·         Feb. 2 – All kindergarten and instructional special education preschool (early childhood)

·         Feb. 8 – Preschool tuition programs, Preschool for All, and grades 1, 2, 7 and 12

·         Feb. 16 – Grades 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, 11

 

VI.        Starting on Tuesday, January 19th Elementary classes will run from 8:45 a.m. to 12:25 p.m.  The half-day kindergarten morning session will run from 8:45-10:45 a.m., and the afternoon session will run from 1:10-3:10 p.m.  

 

In-person Groups:

Students returning for in-person instruction, based on the educational choice form completed in December with the last name starting with A-K will be in group 1 and attend school on Monday and Tuesday.  Students with the last name starting with L-Z will be in group 2 and attend school on Thursday and Friday.  All students will be remote on Wednesdays.  

Group 1 (last name A-K) will be in-person Mon/Tue and remote Wed/Thurs/Fri

Group 2 (last name L-Z) will be remote Mon/Tue/Wed and in-person Thurs/Fri

Remote students will remain remote Mon – Fri

Project Class students will continue with the same in-person schedule from the Fall.

Friday January 15th is a SIP/Early Release Day:

ASYNCHRONOUS LEARNING DAY (No School for Kindergarten)

  • No Live Zoom or Google Meets Sessions (no live attendance)
  • All classes will have learning activities posted for students to complete.
